The oil cleansing method for your face

The healthiest way to cleanse your face.

Does the thought of rubbing oil on your face make you cringe?
Maybe you’re thinking “My face is oily enough as it is!”…
For those of you who are coming across this term for the first time, let me explain why this is probably the best way to wash your face!

The basic concept of this skin care and cleansing method is that the oil used to massage your skin will dissolve the oil that has hardened with impurities and found itself stuck in your pores. The steam will open your pores, allowing the oil to be easily removed. Should you need it, the smallest drop of the same oil formula patted over damp skin will provide the necessary lubrication to keep your skin from over-compensating in oil production.

When you wash your face ,does your it feel dry and tight? Hours later does it feel unbearably oily?
Well this is because the soap used in your product strips the oil out of our skin, leaving our largest organ trying to repair itself by replacing the oil stripped away. That is how we end up with oily pimply skin.

This method is a lot healthier because not only does it not strip your face of its delicate oils, it moisturizes and cleans up perfectly (for those of you who wear lots of makeup) and is 100% natural!
All you need are some oils and some patience (results would show after a month or so).

Preparation :
The base oil is Castor oil because of it’s wonderful antibacterial properties. It should be mixed with a carrier oil (depending on your skin type, the ratio should be 1 part castor and 1 part carrier).
Some examples of carrier oils are that are good for this method are : Jojoba, Sweet almond, Grapeseed, Avocado, Sunflower Seed, Olive, Apricot Kernel, Argan and Tamanu to name a few.

Cleansing :
First of all, splash some warm water on your face. Then massage your oil mixture on your face for 2 minutes (this is the most important step!), let it sit for about half a minute.
Soak a washcloth in warm water (quite hot but not burning hot) and let it sit on your face for some seconds (putting a towel on top of your warm washcloth will keep it from cooling), this will open up your pores to help you wipe up the oil later. Next, gently wipe off the oil from your face with the washcloth. Rinse the washcloth and continue wiping your face until you’ve removed all the oil.
If your face feels dry afterwards, massage half a teaspoon of your oil mixture on your face.
You should do this every night before bed, doing more than that isn’t recommended.
Voilà, Skin that will be moisturized and smooth for longer!
